I'm off!

No, not off my rocker...

or off to the races...

I'm off to the clinic because this bug that got me keeps me from being able to function in the manner I should be able to. I can't walk up or down the stairs without needing a nap. Don't get me wrong, naps are good, but geez!

So... I'm bringing:

  • a book -"Never Suck a Dead Man's Hand" - cause you never know who you might come across in a urgent care waiting room and it's excellent advice but really? Someone needs to be told this?;
  • my iPod - which does NOT contain songs by The Carpenters;
  • my work cell - in case something explodes or someone needs to reach me pronto;
  • hand sanitizer - because really... there will be sick people there and all manner of germies! and maybe a dead man and I might need to sanitize his hand as I might feel compelled to suck... nah!;
  • a bunch of tissues - so I may continue depleating the small bit of rainforest that's left;
  • a banana - I hear potassium is good for you;
  • and gum - I like gum plus if I chew open-mouthed and crack my gum I may get rid of some people ahead of me.
Ugh! This is going to take hours... Think people will leave if I sing a medley of my favourite things? If I thought it would work I would totally do it.

I refuse to play the song because it will then be stuck in my head the rest of the day.

I hope you get something to help you get over this nasty bug.

Good luck! When I was there last week the waiting room was pretty much full of sick people.
Use that hand sanitizer!!! Hope you feel better soon!

I like the list of items you are taking along to clinic.

I hope you are out of there as soon as possible! And feeling better soon, as well.

That song is a favorite of mine.
Yeah, I'm corny like that!

Travis Erwin: That means you KNOW THE LYRICS!!!! Ha! Go on, I double dog dare ya!

Charles: Thanks. *sigh* I have antibiotics and an inhaler. Yuck. The good news is I don't have pneumonia... yet.

DeeMarie: Looks like I'm the contagious one. I have bacterial bronchitis. :( I bet it was a green germy that did me in.

Topchamp: It's a really good read, I was chuckling in the waiting room... until the doc got hold of me. Hopefully with the meds and a week off work I'll be right as rain.

Leighann: Sorry babe *giggle*

Akelamalu: At first he was a jerk, after the x-rays he was nicer. At least he didn't prescribe any cough syrup that tastes like the anti-christ.

Bond: I would have been concerned if you could as there is no video *snarf*

Kate: It kept me entertained for a while.
It took 4 hours to see the doc, go to x-ray, see the doc again. I'm exhausted!
Great movie, isn't it? I knew I liked you! LOL :)

I think you should secretly mail Jeff a Sound of Music video. Mark it as something else. Talk about a letter bomb!

4 Hours! Wow!
Hope you are on the mend now.

Yes, great movie.

I love classics like that.

What do you have against the Carpenters? Didn't the older brother seem way creepy and controlling? Feel better soon!

Travis Cody said...

Did you hear that? It was Jeff screaming. But at least he screams on pitch.

I, on the other hand, love The Sound of Music. And I said it out loud!

Are you absolutely certain there were no Carpenters?

Ok, I keep leaving comments and blogger keeps eating them. Like you chew your gum. With your mouth open. That's terrible, please stop.

being sick sucks...once i went a week w strep throat because i did NOT want to go to the 'quick care'. i gave in when i nearly coughed up a lung, a spleen, and a kidney...i also couldn't sleep from coughing so much and having major swollen glands and pain when swallowing. these days, now that i'm older, i'll go the minute something is wrong (most of the time anyways)lol

here's something my son said to me one day...i don't wash my hands (he does..most of the time anyways). that's why people get sick all the time because they're always washing their hands & trying to do whatever to make sure they don't get the germs. i just let myself get immune to them. that's a 21 yr old talking lol

Songbird: You're evil... I like it!

Kate: 4 hours... the meds better be worth it!

Steenky: He was totally creepy, not that I'd know anything about the Carpenters. Thanks!

Travis: Think he'll stick bananas in his ears? hehehe!
I know you do... and um, positive *whistles and shuffles feet*

Casey: It's actually one of my biggest pet peeves but I'll do it if it moves things along faster for me.

Ciara: Going to the doctor was the last thing I wanted to do, I hate it, there's sick people there. and LOL at your boy!!

Yup, hand sanitizer is good. It helps keep the waiting room cooties at bay! :P

When we were at the hospital this past two weeks with MIL we noticed to our delight that on damn near every wall is a container of hand sanatizer. We used it alot. They had MERSA signs posted on quite a few doors. I am a slight germa phobe and was glad for a little help. Note: I had a budding cold sore, I blame it on my hubby using my lip balm, well I put some of the sanitizer on it and it went away in one day! It stopped hurting right away and went away.
