Walking away is not an option... dialogue must prevail.

"A good listener tries to understand what the other person is saying. In the end he may disagree sharply, but because he disagrees, he wants to know exactly what it is he is disagreeing with."

listen.. and speak up

40 years is a long time to wait for people to listen and truly hear.

Have we heard?

Will we hear?

Ever?

I hope so... hold on to hope...

Today, millions of Canadians are going to vote. God I hope they go and vote...

I just hope this election doesn't leave us with a big post-Thanksgiving turkey... nothing but a carcass and the bits no one wanted. They say timing is everything.

I'll be bringing Chicklet with me as I have for every election (including municipal) since she was a baby. I hold on to hope...

Neither of our two countries have a "Bobby" to look to this fall, but at least we HAVE a choice.

And for that... I am thankful.

"First is the danger of futility; the belief there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery, against ignorance, or injustice and violence. Yet many of the world's great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk began the Protestant reformation, a young general extended an empire from Macedonia to the borders of the earth, and a young woman reclaimed the territory of France. It was a young Italian explorer who discovered the New World, and 32-year-old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal. "Give me a place to stand," said Archimedes, "and I will move the world." These men moved the world, and so can we all."
- Bobby Kennedy

Are YOU registered to vote?

Do YOU have a Peace Globe?

“It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.”

Sometimes...

You just have to wait and something good happens.

The week is finally over! And I managed to survive the monkeys!

My Chicklet is now officially on summer vacay. Yesterday evening, we attended the school's year end Family Party.
Apart from the cold (seriously, we lost 10 Celsius degrees in a week) it was lovely. I'll try and upload the video I took with my cell phone.

My heart is smiling despite some difficult past few days.

*fingers, toes and all manner of body parts are crossed for something good*

Enjoy the summer solstice my friends... May it bring a new season of love and new beginnings. Dance in the moonlight and let your troubles slip away.

Days like this...

It's a beautiful Sunday morning, filled with sunshine and little green things struggling for their share of the sun. I look out the window in the family room and see lovely little yellow flowers blooming.
Today is a lovely day to spend time with Dad and Chicklet I'd say.

I had a rough week at work, but I pushed through it... and now I have a few more days to go before I can get some much needed one-on-one time with my honey.

I had so many projects in my head for this weekend, but the stress of the week caught up with me and my body told me to chill. So I read and just did the basics.

I've stepped away from the electronic world quite a bit lately, but it was, and in some measure still is, needed. I haven't been sleeping very well lately, too many things are running around in my head. I have to figure out a plan to deal with the legacy left by someone I should never have trusted.

I may need help with this, but I have faith that somehow I'll make it work.

“"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore.
"However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”
