Free bird

Late last night, I learned of the passing of Billy Powell, keyboardist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, of an apparent heart attack. I had the privilege of seeing him in concert with mah Honey last year and when he played his solo on "Free Bird" it gave me chills.

Rest in Peace my friend

Would you still remember me?"

Songbird, I was just talking to my sweetie about how we are so lucky to have see him perform last year (of course he's seen Skynyrd more times that I can count).

Travis Erwin, yes... very. :(

I'm very sorry to hear that. THis is the first I've heard of it. I"ve long been a fan of Skynyrd. He will be missed.

Mimi, his journey was a fascinating one. I'm just thankful I had a chance to see him and his magic live.

Gary, far too young.

DB, your class chose well.

Charles, sorry to be the bearer of sad news. I was the one that broke the news to mah Honey, too. He's left a legacy.

I had not seen that, wow. Oh, man, that brings back some memories: air guitar and air drums, sitting in a car with friends, drinking beer we weren't supposed to have. Mmmm, mmmm...I hadn't thought about that in a LONG time.

Thanks, my dear :)

I echo what Donna (Songbird) said. Sad that rockers from our generation are passing at a higher frequency lately.
