Walking away is not an option... dialogue must prevail.

I recently saw a video making fun of the Canadian military for looking at their current mission in Afghanistan and
re-evaluating their resources. Too many soldiers have been wounded and killed for us to think that we can just send people out there without giving them the right tools, experienced leaders and training. It's not respectful of the legacy they've joined, nor of their families.
So Fox News? A big FUCK YOU, eh! Thank God I know better than to think all Americans are such asshats.
Lest we forget...
Thank a soldier.
Edited: OOPS, in my moment of "ARGH" I forgot to send y'all to the newest member of the blogging community. A Marine no less! *heart swells* So go on, say hi... make him feel welcome and thank him, his is a tough job. Semper Fi, darlin'!

Keeping a modern army going must be a logistical nightmare.
It's quite a way of life that military people choose - I often wonder how I'd cope. Badly I expect...
Brian, I expect you're correct. We ask a great deal of those who serve, only appropriate we outfit them properly.
You handled being without water for 10 days and survived! *wink*
I was disgusted recently when a 'mob' of muslims jeered at our troups as they returned home calling them murderers etc. If they want to complain they should be complaining to the government who sent the troops out there, not complain to people doing their job. Thanks for letting me rant here Anndi. I'll pop over and say hello to the newbie now. x
Fox News...? /shudder.
They suck, pure and simple.
Akelamalu, rant away. Thanks for welcoming Mike to the blogosphere :)
Kay, indeed... they do. Lame apologies don't cut it either.
Another example of how our throw away society views human life.
As much as I hate wars, I thank the service men and women of my own country for putting their lives on the line for my freedoms.
What the heck is wrong with reevaluating the situation and the conditions your troops are dealing with? Hmm maybe other countries should follow suit. Take care of the military so they can take care of you.
Can't expect much more from Fox News. I read something awhile back that was talking about how much better the support personnel are treated than our actual soldiers over there. What the hell's with that?
Thanks again for the tip on the 1Sgt's blog. I think I'm going to enjoy it there.
In particular, I'll quote from his side bar.
"...offense and insults are like alcoholic beverages. They only affect you if you accept them."
I'd say the advice from that statement is to ignore Fox News. It's just a bunch of noise anyway.
Reasonable Americans, indeed reasonable people of any stripe, appreciate the service and sacrifice of all military personnel.
Jeff, instead of looking at the value of what was being done, they went for mindless "humour". It's too easy to forget what impact their words could have on those who don't take the time to really listen to a story.
I totally agree with you, the troops deserve respect no matter what one's views on policy may be.
Lu, exactly! This is a show of leadership and should be applauded.
Cap'n, Fox fails miserably at satire. A very clear message must be sent to our governments about the support that must be given to those brave souls in service.
Travis, I thought of you as soon as I read it :)
With all due respect, when a "news" station spews hatred and lies they have to be called on it. Some people believe what it said. They have a responsability as journalists to "be fair" and accurate.
Sadly, the apology issued was lacking.
I'm proud to say I never did watch that channel and as I said, fortunately I know better than to assume they speak for all Americans.
The words Fox and news don't go together.
John, true dat! Thanks for visiting our new blogger, I appreciate it.
Those goofballs on Fox were disgusting. And they had the gall to come back and say they were "misunderstood?" Lame.
Hey mama!!
lol
You crack me up!! The phone calls I got from 1st Sgt were a riot! I think we are breaking him in quite nicely, no? lol You got a spare halo laying around? I can't find mine!!
Thanks again, for the link love mama!xox~ Hope
Meri, I hear ya!
Hope, I almost feel sorry for him... almost. I always have etras... hope you don't mind it being slightly kinked *grin*
Luv ya, mama!
That Fox thing was just plain stupid. what dill weeds.
Faux News is worthless. It is good for one thing and one thing only. Raising my blood pressure.
Using the words like 'breaking' and America's 1stSgt in the same sentence is an oxymoron. They simply don't go together.
So keep your estrogen to yourselves, I don't want to get any on me. ;-)
Charles: further evidence that FN is manned by morons.
Starrlight: they got mine going...
Sgt darlin': you'll be up to your armpits in estrogen before we're done. And you're gonna like it.
I went to visit the newbie! ;)
told him I was your "Mamma"
Fox News speaks for less Americans that they claim too - it's unfortunate that the ignorant and trashy are always the loudest
you and Jon Stewart are both so sexy when you tell Fox "Fuck You"
love ya kid
I saw you did, mamma *grin*
And, um, *blush blush blush*
Peace, people, peace.
And thank God for our military angels as well.
Consider the source...Rupert Murdoch's right-wing private government network...asshats indeed..not to mention fucktards (I told you not to mention that...)
