Walking away is not an option... dialogue must prevail.

and the soul is lifted...

I wanted to share this with you as we enter into a time of renewal, hope and promise. It is what I feel to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever composed, a masterpiece of the twentieth century.

I hope you enjoy it. It never fails to move me to tears and gives me hope.

“When you have come to the edge of all light that you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, Faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.”

Mother Moon, it's not always easy to live by, and some get their feathers ruffled... but it's something I believe in. Thank you for stopping by.

Four Dinners, heheh. Glad you enjoyed.

Akelamalu, I love choral groups... and this piece is really is lovely.

Nick, you are one of the people I thought of when I posted it. Blessed Easter, my friend.

Ron, you are also someone I thought of as I listened to it. I'm so glad you stopped by and loved it. **hug**

"A time of renewal" kind of like fresh bananas on the counter top. :)

Hope you and Chicklet have a grand Easter.

Barber is the most under-appreciated composer of the past century. So much of his work is breathtaking. My favorite is his Violin Concerto, especially the bombasric third movement...(excuse the crappy home video quality of the link)

Lamb of God ... what a lovely example of the neo-classical style, and so fitting to the season.

Interesting that Coopernicus thinks Barber has been under-appreciated, when he won so many prestigious awards. His music has even touched pop culture, as his Adagio for Strings was used Oliver Stone's Platoon. It has also been remixed by DJ Tiesto in an electronic dance hit. http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=2EaE0_gQLw0
