Chicklet and I are in the car on the way to school, listening to the classic rock station (she's picky about her music and that's just another reason why she's so awesome) and we hear about this:
at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. One can sit at a white piano and play "Imagine", peek at as of yet unpublished pictures, in all 140 items graciously brought forth to Montreal by Yoko Ono, write peace wishes to be tied to Yoko's Peace tree... all this to commemorate a truly beautiful moment in time, the 1969 Peace Bed-in. In the spirit of Peace, admission will be free! Yay!
My Chicklet wants to go. And that? Makes my heart swell.
I understand that some people bear bad feelings for Yoko Ono and blame her for the breakup of The Beatles. But I see a woman who loved and was loved passionately, a woman that still carries that love in her heart. And shares her own Honey with us, and carries forth the message they believed in.
Love
Peace
Peace
Where are my Birkenstocks, flowing skirt and flower crown (I'm still totally gonna shave, though...)... I have to prepare.

I want to go see this - how long is the exhibit going to be there?

It's on until June 21st. You're most welcome to stay with us, Coco... bring B-man :)
Ciara, sadly from what I understand it isn't a traveling expo.

Oh if only I lived there I'd be right with you! :)
...loooooves me some Johnny Lennon...and I do not blame Yoko for ANYTHING...
hey, isn't their son a groovy musician too?
TopChamp, that was adorable !!! Congratulations future auntie :)
Akelamalu, I can't wait to go see it. I have a feeling I'll go more than once. I'll take pictures if I can.
Phrankie, thanks for stopping by! I don't blame her either.
Gary, indeed... he is.
That's a brilliant photo.
Thanks, Brian. It was taken at the Montreal Botanical Gardens on a summer vacation in 2004. They had "sculpted" so many interesting things using flowers.
That is totally awesome. You have an amazing child there, there are people out there that don't even know who John Lennon is. I think she's awesome too.
I wish I could go to that, hopefully it'll tour way way down south.
I agree with you about Yoko. I've never really understood what John saw in her, but he did see something in her and there is no undenying the love he felt for her and she him. It's one of the greatest love stories of the past century. And anyone that knows anything about the Beatles knows that she did NOT break them up. They were already well on their way to a breakup with or without her being there.
I agree with John. The Beatles were on the outs and it had nothing to do with Yoko. They developed creatively in different directions.
Enjoy that exhibit. What a cool think for the two of you to do together.
How's May long weekend sound to you?
That will be awesome!!!
John, she loves "Imagine" and she participated in a theater group that used songs from the Love album in their finales. She really enjoyed the music. Plus, she's a peace baby.
Trav, we're looking forward to it. And maybe Coco will join us *jumps up and down*
Coco, REALLY????? oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy *grin* SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Vodka Mom' I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm not a great Beatles or John Lennon fan but this sounds like fun.

Dianne, *heart swells*
You have an invite to stay with us if you do :)
San, beads... check!
Hopefully I'll be able to take pictures, maybe a little video. But I will most certainly write about it.
Kay, she's a cool kid.
Lu, she was standing there. the light was streaming through and I yelled out: "stay right there!!!", she just rolled her eyes and obliged her mama's incessant picture taking. LOL!
